We discover each at a threshold moment in her life, and learn the personal cost of what Pat Nixon called “the hardest unpaid job in the world.”     Particularly apt in a time of heightened politics, this one-woman show is both funny and deeply moving, a thought-provoking exploration of these fascinating women and what they faced in this most unusual job.     Emmy Award–winning actress Elaine Bromka, with 30 years in film, television, Broadway and Off-Broadway, starred opposite Rich Little in the P.B.S. show “The Presidents” and impersonated the last eight First Ladies. Intrigued by their stories, she went on to collaborate with playwright Eric H. Weinberger, focusing on Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford.     And the result?
